We hereby inform you of an important change: the recycling fee for insulation glass will be increased from €0.30 to €0.40 per m².
Why this adjustment
Vlakglas Recycling Nederland (VRN) is the organization that coordinates glass recycling in the Netherlands. Thanks to the recycling contribution, VRN can organize the collection, processing and reuse of flat glass waste, thus realizing a completely closed chain for the glass sector.
Due to rising costs, such as transportation and labor costs, and declining revenues from new construction projects, an increase in the contribution is necessary. This adjustment ensures that VRN can continue to fulfill its crucial role in the circular processing of flat glass in the future.
What does this mean?
The new fee applies to orders with a delivery date starting January 1, 2025. Due to our Christmas closing, orders as of December 25, 2024 will already be billed according to the new fee.
Closing the glass cycle together
Since 2002, VRN has recycled more than 1,618,716 tons of flat glass waste, a milestone achieved thanks to the joint efforts of the glass industry. With this recycling contribution, we ensure that glass does not go to waste, but gets a new life in a circular economy.
